The Playhouse Achieves Its Mission By Providing Young Artists And Artisans With The Opportunity To Grow By Creating High-Quality, Professional Theatrical Productions.

The Forestburgh Playhouse Is A 270 Seat Equity LOA Theater, Located within The Beautiful Catskills In Forestburgh, New York, Approximately 90 Miles From NYC. The Playhouse Also Includes A Restaurant/Bar Called The Forestburgh Tavern, And Small, But Professionally Equipped Scene And Costume Shops.

Every year the Forestburgh Playhouse hires a company of more than 50 people, including actors (Equity and non-Equity), directors, musicians, designers, technicians, box office associates, administrative positions, and restaurant staff (including a chef, a bartender, and kitchen help).  Payroll is issued biweekly; payday is every other Thursday.

Although we are fortunate that some of our staff return from previous years, as is typical in summer stock, there is a fair amount of turnover as staff members mature in their crafts and move on to other opportunities. Job descriptions and additional information about all of these positions can be found on this site, as well as on Playbill.com and other theatre job sites.  For summer 2017, contracts for most technical positions will start May 21, 2017 and continue through September 5, 2017.
