Morgan James is a Juilliard trained singer, actress, songwriter and recording artist in New York City.

Her most recent studio album, “Memphis Magnetic” is a love letter to Memphis, Tennessee, with 12 original soul tunes recorded to analog tape. When she became an independent artist, Morgan released "Reckless Abandon" in 2017. One of Morgan’s signatures is recording full album covers: she recently took on The Beatles’ iconic “White Album” to celebrate the 50th anniversary, as well as Joni Mitchell’s seminal “Blue”. Morgan also recorded two full-length albums with Epic Records: “Hunter”, an album of original soul and R&B, and “Morgan James Live”, a celebration of Nina Simone.

On Broadway, Morgan was in five back-to-back original companies: The Addams Family (starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth), Wonderland, Godspell and Motown: The Musical, and Kristin Chenoweth’s For The Girls. (Morgan got her equity card right here at the Forestburgh Playhouse twenty years ago!)

Morgan produced and starred in an all-female concert and concept recording of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar entitled “She Is Risen”, available on all streaming platforms.

With viral sensation Postmodern Jukebox and with her own channel, Morgan’s music videos have accumulated more than 200 million views. For information and updates, please
