Hopefully, your toes are beginning to thaw as the promise of spring is (almost) in the air.  And as the sap starts to flow, we are enthusiastically preparing for another season bursting with excitement. 

  • This summer, our 79th Season (yes, 79 seasons of Playhouse Magic!) features 7 not-to-be-missed musicals, comedies, and plays.  CLICK HERE for the details. But wait, there’s more, this summer, we will also present a Family Fun Production, 7 cabarets, 2 academy programs (complete with fabulous performances), a new works Festival, and some exciting surprises along the way!  
     

  • Lighthearted escapism will be in abundance with productions of Disney’s Newsies and Shrek the Musical.  Bring your kids and grandchildren to these family fun productions! 
     

  • The casting team has already conducted over 1,000 auditions for our Resident Company (ResCo), which has become THE job to hone skills and further careers (over 10 ResCo alums appeared on or made their debut on Broadway in 2024!)
     

  • Our local auditions were a huge draw with over 100 hopefuls auditioning for roles in Shrek the Musical, Newsies and The Full Monty. 
     

  • We are especially excited to announce the creation of a new program–The Junior Resident Company – a troupe of talented local teens who will participate in Shrek, cabarets, attend free workshops and wow our audiences! 
     

  • The Playhouse Academy hosted a sold-out Spring Into Auditions Workshop and is busily preparing for its summer programming. 
     

  • In the Works-In the Woods celebrates its 5th Anniversary! The team has been flooded with a record number of submissions of plays, musicals, cabaret acts and more for the upcoming Festival.  During an exhilarating week in September, dozens of creators from around the country once again gather on our campus to rehearse, rewrite, commune, workshop and share their gifts with our community at large.  Stay tuned for details on this year’s offerings!
     

  • Don’t forget the Forestburgh Tavern, where you join friends and neighbors to enjoy signature cocktails, fabulous food, live music, comedy, cabaret and more!  This year, we are thrilled to announce that Dinner Cabarets are now available Tuesdays through Saturdays!  You loved them so much last year–we added on another day! 
     

  • An important economic driver for Sullivan County, the Playhouse employs, houses, transports and feeds over 200 artists/employees each year.  With an ever-increasing regional reputation, the Playhouse is an invaluable resource fueling the vital tourist trade and soaring real estate values.

We are blessed to be situated in the bucolic Sullivan Catskills, surrounded by neighbors and friends like you who have become the Forestburgh Playhouse family.  You show up. You laugh and sing and celebrate with us. You donate to ensure our financial stability.

Our buildings may be dark right now.  But be assured, we are hard at work planning for the coming season.  And I promise you that it will be our best ever!
