OUR 73RD SEASON - A SUMMER IN REVIEWS

This summer was a blockbuster season for the Forestburgh Playhouse. Attendance was high and the reviews were glowing. Here are just a few of the rave reviews we received this season!

“There aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to describe The Buddy Holly Story, currently showing at the Forestburgh Playhouse. So, we’ll just use Holly’s own words: “Oh Boy!””
Sullivan County Democrat. June 21, 2019

From a review of Me and My Girl: “While there are dozens of wonderfully creative and inventive theatre companies... The Forestburgh Playhouse, now in its 73rd year of continuous operation, stands out as a shining example of good old-fashioned summer-stock.”
The River Reporter. July 11, 2019

“My hat is tipped to this production’s ensemble. Bravo to all of you! Forget about the multiple roles you play. The quick costume changes and then to hit that floor tapping in complete unison and on the toe-tapping beat is a sight to behold.  Thank you!”
Sullivan County Democrat. July 5, 2019

“This incarnation of HAIR beautifully serves as a love letter to the original production and is practically flawless... ”
The River Reporter. 7/23/19

When anyone speaks of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, one aspect claims the limelight—the outrageous and absolutely non-stop glitz and brilliance of the costumes! And in this Forestburgh Playhouse production, the sky is truly the limit!”
Sullivan County Democrat. 8/2/19

A review of Venus in Fur: "Brilliantly written, impeccably directed, insanely well-acted with multi-layered, emotionally charged performances... gritty, sexy, disturbing and funny-"
The River Reporter. 8/30/19
